I want a pet moose...is that legal?

i live in the usa...is it legal to have a pet moose and if so what would i feed it...or even get one...should i make some sort of mini forest for it or something?

First off you would have to get an exotic animal permit, youd have to demonstrate you had the capacity to care for one, moose need acres of grassland to graze and roam.  I know people who own wildlife preserves on their property, they have mostly elk and deer things like that, I dont see how a moose would be different.  Youd have to get one bred in captivity probably not like a wild moose, but all in all if you have the cash, why not?  Youre an American I will gladly stand up for your right to own a moose, provided you take care of it and not let anyone shoot it for game.

Here in England there was a list of "dangerous" animals one had to have a licence to keep. The list was drastically shortened in 2007, and the emu was removed from the list. Presumably before then, all emu keepers had an emu licence. The mind boggles.
