  1. Get one of these

  2. well tell them that pole dancing should be considered a sport you have to have amazing core muscle and control to be able to do that it is also a wonderful form of exercise

  3. There is a pole in my basement. Come on over.

  4. i would just try to convince your parents, if you actually want to do spins or tricks you're going to need a professionally made pole or you'll just fall and hurt yourself.  i would tell them about how its becoming more mainstream and alot of girls take pole dancing classes that aren't planning on ever stripping.  and that its also a fun workout that takes alot of strength and you'll really build up your upper body strength.

  5. You want to MAKE one?

Do you plan on actually learning how to do tricks on the pole or do you just plan on dancing around it?

NO self-made pole will be able to handle a person's body weight, so doing any kind of tricks where you have to pull yourself up or hold on to the pole is out of the question.

Just ask your parents. Pole dancing is a fantastic way to get fit and build and strengthen muscle (and it's great fun), and doesn't mean you're trying to "learn" how to become some sort of stripper or something. Some parents will understand, some won't - regardless, don't try to make a pole on your own because it is definitely not going to work out and you might end up getting hurt.

Try showing them some sites like verticaldance.com, where they promote pole dancing as a great way to get fit.

There are poles (they're called X-poles; do NOT get a Peekaboo like the first person advised you to - they fall easily and you can get really hurt) that you can buy online that you can install and remove any time you want without having to ruin the ceiling. They aren't cheap and, of course, you'll need the permission of your parents.

  6. nick a basketball post and stick it in your room.

  7. Sorry, hun, I missed the "not."

    Well, keep it that way.

  8. Well, I just found a used Fireman pole from the dump... so I used that. Before trying to make one (very complicated, I'm sure) Try explaining to your parents why you want one. Do some research on Pole Dancing in general, including exercise (which is why I got mine; maybe it'll work for you)

  9. I can understand why your parents won't let you have one. It may be purely innocent but it could be perceived as a little distasteful. If you can't get hold of a pole, I suggest you concentrate learning other forms of dance, such as jazz, gymnastics, ballet, hip-hop or latin so you are able to transfer those skills to pole-dancing when you are older.

    :-)
