at walmart they have black fish that have rilly big eyes and they fall out sooner or later. if you dont like that you can get an oscar. if u get two they will eat each other cause they eat fish. or you can get a gold fish

Neon tetras are nice. they are easy to take care of and you can have alot in one tank. They dont get too big and you can mix them with alot of other fish like cory catfish and rummy nose tetras. In my opinion, they are really nice fish.

Try a Senegal bichur or one of the other bichur species.  Most of your better fish stores will have them and they come in albino forms as well as wild colored.

If you are a beginner fish owner, well becoming one then you should get a betta. Bettas are beautiful and so unique. Here are basic steps on taking care of your betta.

*Betta will need 1/2 gallon tank or more (you should at least a 5 gallon tank)

*Betta pellets or betta flakes (Pellets: 2 or 3 a day) (Flakes: Feed as much as it can eat in 2 minutes) Remember to feed it in the morining and night. (and afternoon if you want)

*Bettas need plants in their tank. Add lots of plants and a little home for it (something it can go into when it feels like it wants to be alone.)

*NEVER put more than one betta in a tank (only if females)

*The tank must be 76-83 degrees. It is a tropical fish!

*Please add filter and heater if you have a 5gallon or more tank.

*Get another betta ina another tank or just get a mirror. Put it in front of your betta at least once a day. This will help exercise it.

*Always give your betta a balanced meal. Bloodworms, brine shrimp, and peas should be in this diet for your betta (peas help digestion).

*Always put conditioner in your betta's water after you cleaned it's tank. (Betta Conditioner...NOT hair soap conditioner!)

*Love your betta!
