I bought a bracelet off ebay for my boyfriend and it arrived today. Im really not happy with it as it looks like it has been worn. There are stratches on it and the colour of the lettering is fading. It was listed as NEW. The listing said:

"Unwanted Birthday Present a lovely Bench Gents ID Bracelet

Lovely weight to it and a lovely peice of jewelry just unfortunatly

do not have the time to wear it. Would make a lovely

present to someone"

There was nothing to say about the stratches or anything. The picture was taken from the online shop argos. But i thought maybe this was just to make the picture abit better. I wish i had asked about any stratches now!! I have emailed the seller saying im not very happy

He replied saying he would be happy to give me the postage back : £2.50 I really dont think this is good enough. How do i go about asking for a full refund an sending it back. Ask for it through paypal or cheque? Should i contact ebay?

  1. we have had the same problem more than once with high priced items what we did was filed a claim through paypal and waited and you get all your money back..or if you dont want to wait for that call your bank and tell them that you bought an itm off of ebay and when you received it it wasnt as described and they will give you the option for a chargeback and will send you to the claims department and will issue you paperwork and all that is neccesary for a chargeback but thats all up to you and im not to sure which bank you have but we use bank of america and thats how they refunded our money shipping costs and all good luck and dont let that seller get away with it.. if he did it to you he will do it to somebody else

  2. The number one problem with buying online "You don't always get what you want".

Tip: If  the item was listed new then you have something, call ebay about it, because that was a fraudulent clam and was wrong. They have a strict policy about it you should get your money back definitely. Don't be scared to ask. Just don't say you disliked the item, say it was worn before and if you report quickly it would help a lot more.

  3. Sorry but this is the chance that you take buying stuff off of eBay you just never know what you'll get and in what condition it will be in, but here is my only concern if he was dishonest with you upfront what make you think that he would be honest with you and refund your monies back once he gets the bracket he will just turn around and resell it and keep your money see if you can't bring it down to a local jeweler store and see if they can buff the scratches out for you.

  4. If the goods are not described accurately, you are entitled to a refund.  Use the eBay complaints procedure.

  5. With eBay you have to mail the item back to seller to get a refund for the item. You also have to do it at your cost. I'm saying this is right but it the rules of Ebay and Pay Pal. Without doing this you won't get a refund from seller.

  6. You will have to file a dispute- item not as described- but to be honest if it's a good seller Ebay will side with them, they need the money to pay their fines!!

  7. concact ebay

  8. Ha Ha, serves you right for being a cheapskate.

Next time go to a proper shop where you can look at what your buying.

  9. Whoevere listed it really thought it was LOVELY!!! Geeez, how many more time could he squeeze that word into the description? You got ripped off. Sorry hun. Besides, Your boyfriend should be buying you the bracelet. Not the other way around!

  10. Contact ebay and then paypal

  11. well...it is ebay so i guess the whole refund thing won't be easy, though you could say that it was flase advertising. My adivce would be to cut your losses and deal with it. It's not really worth all the trouble and time unless of course you're a justice kind of person =D  It could have been damaged in the post?

With ebay it's just a matter of luck really.

  12. Yes file a formal complaint!
