I have a Sony A200 with 18-70 lens and a 75-300 lens, I fancy getting a Lowepro Mini Trekker AW, but not sure if the camera with the 75-300 lens fitted will fit inside, as Lowepro literature says a 200mm zoom will fit in attached to a dslr camera, does anyone know if a A200 will fit?

  1. I have a Lowepro (not the mini ) and a National Georgraphic and both are well made backacks with lots of room. Lowe made backpacks for years before making camera bags. Measure your camera then go to http://www.lowepro.com/ and look at the specs for the bag you are looking for. It lists the interior specs as 11W X 4.9D X 14.6H in.

  2. I just went through this myself.

    I looked at the

    - Lowe Micro Trekker

    - Slingshot 100 or 200

    - Tamrac Velocity 7

I had pretty much settled on the Velocity 7, then went into my local camera store and found a Roots Multimedia Sling Pack.  It worked for me, and it was actually cheaper than the others.

It really comes down to how much size you want.  I really did not want a big, honking bag to lug around and I didn't need something that would handle cell phones and spare shoes! :-)

The Roots bag is smaller and more compact than the others, but fits my body frame better.  So it was a compromise.

The advantage to the Tamrac and Slingshot is that you don't have to remove the bag to pull out your camera.  You simply roll it around to your front and unzip the side.

Your best bet....while you can order online, you really don't get any appreciation for true size unless you can actually hold it.  Go to your camera shop or several (they all carry different makes).
