I want a summer job?

I live in New York, and i really want a job for the summer. But the thing is, I'm only 14 years old. Where and how can a 14 year old girl in NYC get a job? Do i need a resume? Or can i just ask them if they need a job? What do i need to bring? I heard that abercrombie or cold stone or supermarkets might let 14 years olds work.
