Question:

I want a supplement that will be good for my skin and hair

I don't want one of those multi hair skin nail supplements because last time i bought one of those at Target it made me breakout. I don't want a vitamin just something that helps keep hair healthy and skin looking nice. I currently take fish oil pills for that and was wanting something different.. any suggestions?

  1. For your hair, the Chinese herb He Shou Wu is very good. For your skin, fish oil is very healthy for us all and may help your skin. Quieting the immune system can be affected by the cholinergic pathway. Some herbs that activate it along with fish oil are Salvia miltiorrhiza, licorice root, green tea, and dang gui.

    Dietary change to a vegan diet may also present some help with your skin, but is such a major change that it is hard to contemplate. Think first of trying to avoid milk and meat for 30 days and see if that helps. That way you can envision it more easily and can always return to those foods if the change does not come.

    Take a multi B complex tablet including all the B's ie: B1, B2 B3, B5, B6 and B12, folic acid, biotin etc... as they work best synergistically (together)....... do not take any of the B complex of vitamins individually, but rather as a whole complex, unless specifically instructed to by a nutritionally oriented physician or naturopath.

    ~ eat oily, cold water fresh fish like salmon, mackerel or tuna at least three times a week.
