  1. Thats awesome, you should totally buy it! yes, you do need a special license, you would need to go through a motorcycle safety course and get a motorcycle license. not sure on insurance costs but to give you an idea, i have a 200cc bike that costs about 400 a year for insurance. i don't think thats too expensive. good luck, it should last you a while and get GREAT gas mileage!!!

  2. The law on license very from state to state I would say go head and get your motorcycle license and take a MSF class this will keep Ins down. ins is very low cost for a vespa. as long as you keep up on the maint on the bike you can get well over 75k out of it.

    Smart move!!

  3. The amount of mileage that you can get on a vespa will vary depending on how you ride it.  If you are easy on it and maintain it well, then it will last a long time.  You could easily see 100K miles.  On the other hand if you neglect it and give it h**l, then you could only see 10K miles.  For a 150cc scooter, you will need a standard motorcycle license and you will have to have the bike registered.  You can also expect to pay around 100-150 a year for liability only insurance.
