Maybe it is because have been to about a billion weddings these past few years but I really want to do something unique (for both the ceremony and the reception) without too much hassle. I live in a small town so venues are somewhat limited. I'm open to your suggestions.

  1. I had a chocolate themed wedding. I thought it would be fun (which it was!) But I didn't know it would end up being the talk of the town and so interacting with all of my guests! My bridesmaids all wore chocolate brown. Instead of placecards, I had hershey bars with wrappers made with the guests names and table #'s written on them. People LOVED this! (ordered from ebay really inexpensive!) I made my own centerpieces out of ferrero rocher made to look like flowers as the centerpieces. People got to eat them while they were hanging out at the table. I also had a chocolate fountain, an all chocolate cake, chocolate shotglasses, different chocolate martini's and a candy bar set up so that are guests could take home different chocolates at the end of the night and our favors were hershey's chocolate fondue sets! The big kicker...my girls brought me to Hershey Park for my bachelorette party and we spent all day having a blast and getting more ideas and then hit the town for a wild night! It really wasn't all that difficult. The ceenterpieces took about 10 minutes for each of them. But they were less expensive than flower centerpieces that would die the next day! You could try this or try a candyland theme! For your placecards you could use those large round lollipops and put peoples names and table #'s on them. Have someone make differnt "candy drinks" as your signature drink. and place small dum dums in them. You could be introduced to "Candy Man" by Christina Aguilerra to make things more fun! Theme weddings are always great! But it's the ones that are interactive are the best! If you need anymore ideas, I could ramble your ear off! Email me!

  2. Here is a cute Bonboniere store:

    They have some unique ideas.

    or

    www.i-do.com.au

  3. I am not sure for the ceremony, but for the reception, I would think to have two kissing booths, one with you in it the other with your husband in it.

Hae a hula hoop contest and give out prizes.

  4. Go somewhere with the groom and get married the way that you want to and then come home and have a kick *** party. That is what I am gonna do, all weddings are the same and this day is for me and my groom, and I want it to be just us I t/ra hink that it is more special that way. Or you can rent a boat and just have you and your closest family and his and get married on the boat.

  5. A theme wedding is always fun.

  6. I'm suppose to get married in October.  We are going to do a fall theme.  Fall colors, brown and burnt orange.  Pumpkin center pieces, a chocolate table.( chocolate fountain, chocolate cake, ect.)  We are going to have hay bales set up to sit on.  Instead of a "fancy" dinner, we are going to grill.  No uncomfortable close--jeans and a tee shirt will do just fine.  Maybe a swimsuit since i'm in south GA and its still warm in October.  Maybe this will give you a few ideas.  Congrats!

  7. I know someone who did a picnic for the reception, with apple pies instead of a cake.  She got ideas for fancy picnics from Victoria magazine.  There were china dishes, vintage tablecloths, very pretty.

  8. Hmm, im not sure what venues are available to you but what about doing something unique for your 'first dance' at the reception.

My boyfriend and I plan on getting married soon and we've decided to hire a choreographer friend of ours to make up a special dance for us - Something to match 'our song'....Then we will preform the dance for our guests at the reception...something more interesting that the traditional waltz.

    Best of luck to you!
