Ok so I have 'normal' skin that is on the fair side... and I burn every now and then.

In a couple of months I'm going away for a week for schoolies (kind of like Spring Break in Australia)

I want to have an amazing tan that will distract from my flab haha

should I:

a) visit the solarium for 2-4 weeks beforehand

b) get a spray tan

?????

I'm scared the spray tan will wash off at the beach!!!!

what do I do?

I want to be REALLY brown!

  1. hmm why dont you get a self tanner instead? usually it gradually tans I think it's better. But from the 2 options you have, I prefer spray. Solarium is bad. Don't have such a short plan for yourself, there's always a chance you'll get skin cancer between those 4 weeks of you getting your tan in the solarium. Is it worth it? Tan for a week = cancer for a life time?

Go with bottled tan or spray (careful about the spray, dont be too orange). Sally Hansen is great for the legs.

btw Spring Break in Australia, if you're talking bout the one in Queensland in a couple of months, have a great time but seriously speaking, stay away from losers with drugs, seriously ew there will be lots of them believe me

  2. a spray tan is much safer,u should talk to whoever does them like a beautician and theyll tell u if itll come off.but i dont think it will

  3. I think the solarium is more efficient and doesn't leave you with any spots and it keeps longer - you get a nice uniform tan;

whereas the spray tan is healthier and cheaper, but you might get darker and lighter spots if you don't apply it correct on you skin.

    have fun during your holiday!

  4. i will only answer this question if you give me some tuna fish.

  5. Getting a proper beach tan with a fair skin is not easy, I also burn really easy( i am from a hot country) The trick I found to get the most beautifull tan, was to tan every day for no more than a half a hour, in two weeks I had the best tan of my life. You dont notice it every day, but after a while you do.

Good luck and have a great hoilday.

  6. Going to a sunbed will help you build resistance to harsh sun. Don't get into the habit of doing it though, as it gets very harmful if you use it excessively or even regularly. Then perhaps you could get a spray tan on top, they aren't very expensive, and you will look slimmer probably! Spray tans won't protect you from the sun's harmful rays, but if you feel brown and tanned then you are less likely to be silly and rush the natural tanning process in the sun - so good result. Then, providing you have a skin-type (say olive) that tans well, you can speed up tanning by using a tanning oil with a low SPF, say 2, 3, 4. Banana Boat do them. If you can't afford that, you can use Johnson's baby oil.

The spray tan won't was off unless you scrub it really hard with sand or soak in the sea for HOURS at a time - but if you use like tan body makeup, it will come off. Alternatively, you could use a gradual-tan body moisturiser!

Good luck and have fun :)
