I want an emo/rocker style bedroom?

BUT. i went through a girly phase when i was little and i have a pink carpet and beach wood furnature.

not exactly emo/rocker.

my parents wont let me change my carpet.

what can i do?

It's just paint and decoration! you can always change it... just don't go buying designer expensive stuff in case you do decide to change in a year.

Compromise with your parents and see if they'll let you paint your walls.

You can go the Black and Pink route with one focal wall a deep (hot) pink and the other 3 black or vice versa (it's a little more punk, but you get the idea). In case your parents say that it'll make you depressed or it's too dark: I painted my walls a really dark deep blue when I was younger and my mom thought it would too, but I really liked having my favorite color around me all the time. Besides, if you end up putting posters, frames, mirrors and shelves on the walls, they'll break up the solid black. Do be careful if you start feeling down or depressed, then you might want a lighter, brighter color.

Use a lot of deep pink accessories to spread the color around the room and a little white would help lighten it up too. anything from a vase, a frame or bright poster...

you can also do a variety of shades of pink for decorations to tie in the color of the carpet. sometimes when the wall color changes, you see more colors emerge in the carpet and it might work out well. from pastel baby pink to medium and dark pinks.

bedding, curtains, rugs, bean bags can all be in your chosen colors.

last, you can always paint furniture and decoration in the colors of your room to tie them in with the rest of the decor. Even wood furniture and some plastic/metals can be painted.

*** Just make sure to ask your parents first so you don't end up damaging an antique or a valuable family heirloom... Spray paint is about $5 a can or you can get paint in pint or sample sizes.

You should never decorate your room based on a description someone gives you. Decorate it the way you want it. Not "oh, emo/rocker is what's "in"right now, and that's what I want to be"...no no no. Be yourself.  What if next year emo/rocker isn't cool anymore?? Then you are stuck with an outdated fad, and trust me, your parents aren't going to let you redecorate every year.....

Just wait it out. When I was 10 I begged all the time to have a Powerpuff Girls room. If I did get the redecorations and had that currently, wouldn't that have sucked big time??! (Imagine having s*x in your room with Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup, lol) Just wait out your phase
