I want faster speed. What is taking my speed from my computer. I would like all answers related to this q

How do I get it? Does it have to do with programs on my desktop that I have installed? Or My ram memory? Whaaaaat????? Give me all answer related to this question.

*sigh* the word memory is already included in the acronym ram.

but anyhow, sometimes when you open and close certain applications (programs) they'll continue running in the background regardless to being shut down.

pay attention to all programs that start up when you start up your computer.. aim, yahoo messenger, limewire....etc. all of those will drain your computer of memory!!

Your Internet connection may be slow, contact your ISP asking them if your getting what you paid for.

Other then that, run virus scans, remove unneeded programs, just some household cleaning.

I built this machine that I am on from scratch.

If you go to dell or one of the other pc people you will over pay.

For a faster pc you need......

New motherboard

New Processor faster ones like dual core and up

ddr2 ram and up ddr3 is the next step

a new power supply

a gfx card if you want to game it or get high quility playback for movies

a dvd drive

a new power supply to fit you motherboard

and possibly a case if yours is not an atx style case

And a sata hard drive. Sata is faster than the ide old school ones.

I did all of that right there for less than 250 bucks
