  1. Such prosperity cannot alone make a nation happy, unless that nation has no regard or need for spirituality.

I don't mean religion. Even we atheists have spirituality. I need to know that my emotional needs are met, and if that means giving up something of material value to gain my soul, I do it.

A nation happy with ONLY material wealth would never consider its own soul.

  2. they are going to attack the "alone" part so she must make it clear that this "alone" part stands for GDP and GNP and then further show how it is common practice by all economists to measure the "happyness" (aka economic prosperity) in a happy nation by the gnp and gdp alone.

They will counter with their happy nation (romanticized) peace & love b.s.

then you should counter with well this may be good for now as a measurement (they're happy because of this and that) but how are we to ensure tomorrow.

link GNP and GDP to how a family survives and how one with means can have extra time to do the things they like etc.etc..

stress happy nation not happy people

what is a happy nation, yes a happy people but it is more then that. It is a place where your parents grew up and you will grow

up and maybe your kids and there kids...etc.

attach this back to happiness and nationhood and you have a

    winner

Things to look out for 1)semantical arguments ex.alone(what is it) 2)emotional arguments (the only way to win these is to disrupt them, no amount of information can stop an emotion.

(she is in grand 8 so the kids are not interested in rhetoric so tell her that she will most likely lose because when talking to children logical answers aren't everything she must sell her point emotionally even though her side is the harder side to do so.SHE MUST WIN THEIR HEARTS)
