  1. If you really want to marry him, wait until he gets out.  It will be pointless to marry him while he's in jail.  Besides, I think he'll need to get special permission from the jail anyway.

  2. Why not just wait until he is out. What is the point in marrying him when he is still locked up? you won't even be able to spend your wedding night together!

  3. I'm sorry, but why would you want to marry a criminal?

  4. its better if you wait

  5. don't get married to someone who is in jail. If you love him I'm happy for you, BUT he needs to get his life situated out first before he gets married.

If years down the road he is out of jail, in a good situation, and you still love him, get married then.

Don't do it now when he is a criminal. Just think about it.

Do you want to be married to a man who is in and out of jail? What if you have kids? You will have to raise the kids by yourself.

I hope you do what you feel is right... good luck.

  6. I'm sorry but...Don't get married to him...And the People at the jail won't let him out cause he's not any more special than all the other people there...

  7. Wait... you wanna marry him BEFORE he gets out??? Why not just wait till he gets out? That doesn't make any sense.

  8. I don't know how you'd go about it, other than that I think getting engaged now would be good. Do some leg work for the wedding and be all "crazy bridezilla" now while he's away and then marry him when he's out. What kind of honeymoon and enjoyment can you really have with him right now?

  9. Go to the Jail administration office and ask them what the policies and procedure is.  If they don't allow it, then you will not have wasted any time or money - you know you have to wait until he is out.  If they do, they will tell you the procedure. Next, a marriage license. Most states require both of the couple to be present for either applying for the license or picking up the license.  Again, if they don't allow one person to do it, then you are SOL unless there is some procedure through the jail.

I'm not going to tell you one way or the other what you should do.   I don't know anything about the situation, other than the fact that they don't ordinarily give jail time for first offenses of minor crimes.  Keep that in mind.

  10. If this is truly your wish and you love him, go for it.  I would contact the state in which you live and see what the requirements are.  People do get married during periods of incarceration.  It is an interesting question you pose and I am curious of course why you would want to do this before he gets out.  It seems to me that it would be more of a celebration if you could share it with family and friends after he is out and has had a chance to readjust to civilian life and you could go on your honeymoon.  It is none of my business nor anyone's.  As long as you both feel the same way and wish to be married no one can tell you what is right or wrong for you.

  11. okay, im not gonna trash you because your bf is locked up.

i read those other answers and they were very mean!

anyway, i would go wherever he is locked up and talk to the police or whoever runs the place if it is legal or whatever.

talk to your bf about it and see what he says, but more importantly,

GO WITH YOUR HEART & GOOD LUCK!! <3

  12. thats the most stupidest thing i have ever heard

  13. Your kidding right? You going to marry someone who is not good for you. Run before you end in jail

  14. Well if you love your boyfriend that much who is behind bars you should definitely wait until he is released to get married to him or wait until he is atleast rehabilitated (i.e. to ensure he will not repeat his crime or whatever it was).

  15. WHY???

Present behavior predict future behavior. So if he's in jail now, he'll probably end up in there again.

It's probably time to re-examine your relationship and what you want out of life.

Way to set your standards high!

  16. jailbird? dealbreaker!!

  17. a lot of prisons/jails have chapels, you should call the facility he is at and look into it.

  18. i think it would be easier if you just wait 8 months to get married...wouldnt you think it would be more romantic if its not in a jail?  Think about it.

  19. This is ridiculous. First of all, why on earth would you want to marry someone who has committed a criminal act? Second, you aren't allowed to get married while you're incarcerated - you'll have to wait until this guy gets out.

But seriously, don't. I hope this is a joke question.

  20. Uh, yeah, I don't see much potential for the relationship beings that it won't be much of a relationship anyways.  You'll end up hurt and alone.

  21. girl dont listen to them if you love him and he love you then go for it ......you can go online and apply for you guys marriage license set a date and go for it. Every one has problems and no one on here knows what he is in for but quick to judge ........only you know you have been with this guy 2 years you know if he is good for you or not.........

  22. That's pathetic. Besides, he's g*y if he likes being locked up all the time.

  23. I feel like i'm gonna vomit.

  24. Ummmm. .... why do you want to do that?

you are setting yourself up for disaster

  25. Nothing like setting low expectations for yourself.  How romantic to marry a jail bird.  Maybe you can have his cell mate, Bubba be the best man.  Oh, if you are needing some bridal attire tips, watch that show, "My name is Earl" .  Anything that Earl's ex wife wears would be appropriate.   Your parents must just be giddy with excitement!

I am so tired of seeing women do things to totally s***w up their lives.  What is going in in your brain that would make you think that this is a great idea?

We will all be here for you when you are wondering how your life became so bad after you have a few kids and have to work several jobs to support them because he is back in jail.

    Good luck girlfriend.......

  26. Did you hear yourself?

You need to find a man who will be there for you when you need him, who will take care of you, hold you when your sad, protect you when your scared and love you ALWAYS.

In jail he can't hold you, protect you and kiss you... why in the freakin h**l would you want less for yourself than a man who would do anything to be a good man for you instead of getting in trouble and ending up a nothing????????

Do NOT, i repeat, do not set your sights so low as to marry someone who will not put you first.

His bad habits, his trouble making need to come to a COMPLETE end before you think of marriage with someone like that.

  27. Why would you want to marry him before he gets out? That just sounds kind of weird. He's been in jail 8 monts. How much longer does he have to go? And what did he do? I mean, okay, people make mistakes and all, but I would think long and hard before marrying someone with a criminal record.

And what kind of record is it? Because if it was a felony, it is going to cause many problems down the road. What kind of jobs he can get, credit issues, can't vote, etc. etc.

But if you really want to go through with it, the jails have chapels, and they will marry you there. You just have to call them up and ask how to go about setting it up. Even if a lot of us think it's a horrible, stupid idea.

    Good luck.

  28. I believe you love him but please think about what you are doing before you make a terrible mistake. If he gets out of jail after being charged with a felony, he may never get a job more than landscaping. What type of life do you want for yourself and your future kids. This is the perfect time to start your life fresh. Go to school and begin a career. If you still want him when he gets out, go for it but I wouldn't marry anyone who can't make my life better.

  29. Hey JK360,

Listen to these people, most of them know what they're talking about.  Flock together with the jailbirds and you'll be sorry along with your family.  GET OVER IT !!

  30. It's an adminsitrative procedure - paperwork, etc.  You may need to privide the wedding officiant, also.  I'd suggest contacting a jail supervisor and finding out what you need to do.

  31. Lol, don't marry him.

He is a loser, you can do better.
