  1. um im sorry for your loss but goldens are great dogs and they get along well with people and dogs. also labs or you can take a stroll through a shelter. they have plenty of big playful pooches in need of a home :)

  2. labroadors or golden retrievers

  3. boxers

  4. Most big dogs are playful. Black lab, golden retriever.

  5. golden retrievers are very loyal and like playing also they are normally good with small dogs

  6. Go to a shelter and see what big dogs they have.  Most shelters make sure that the animals for adoption are sociable.  If your pug is a female, get a male.  My last 8 dogs have been shelter dogs, and they've all been great.

  7. Labrador  Retrievers are very playful, good with other animals and people and are very trainable.  If you liked your German Shepherd another one may also be a good option for you.

  8. The breed that you get is totally up to you,but I'm suggesting a Boxer. They're a medium/large breed, but they're VERY playful. In fact, they stay playful pretty much until they die.I show a Boxer and he's just so playful, smart, loving, gentle, and he just loves everybody. He's a great dog and I think that you'd be very happy with one. They do need leadership though and a firm hand, but I'm guessing you know how to handle bigger dogs since you've owned one. This breed is just a suggestion, but really look into any breed before getting one.Or visit your local animal shelter and see if you can find a new BFF there.I hope you are happy with whatever you get!!

  9. Do you mean big as is in Golden retriever or do you mean big as in Great dane???

Well which ever you mean i think you should go down to the pound. There are dogs of all sorts. Even the most beautiful, dogs with great personality's are found their. So sav a life even, if its a mutt, go down and have a look. I'm sure you will find the perfect, playful friend

  10. I have an English Springer Spaniel, they are very active play full dogs, they get along with kids and my dog absolutely has no problem with other dogs and he isn't mean to dogs that are smaller then him. They'll play with anything, they can have fun with an empty plastic bottle or a bucket. But they need a lot of exercise. They are really smart, funny and good family dogs. If you don't like them then I would say a Golden Retriever, I don't know a lot about them but they're also good family dogs.

  11. There are many big fun loving dogs that you could consider getting.  I could recommend many.............but, I think you already have the master choice of all by going to a shelter or pound as you stated to save a life of a needy dog.  They are CRAVING to be loved.

Thank you, thank you!!!  I'm overjoyed to hear what your decision is!!

    Have a wonderful nite!

  12. hi,

to know what type of dog will suit you, you can use this dog finder match up http://tinyurl.com/6gkcok

the goal here is to help you figure out what type of dog best suits you and your personality. The results of the match up will suggest certain breeds.

    hope this helps

  13. i m sorry for your loss..i think black Labrador is very good..they also big n friendly to smaller dogs..i just got a black lab 4-5months(BB@black beauty) but quite big already..and she came in a cage with another small puppy..maltese breed.and my dad says they both been together like few weeks and never see them fighting..except the small one go n pick a fight. but the black lab just remain cool.they r very loving to each other..

  14. Labrador's and golden retrievers are nice dogs, but any big dog will be nice if you train it, I was brought up with 5 rotties and they never once hurt me or anyone else.

  15. English Mastiff.  Very big (200 lbs.+), very playful (love to play) usually get along with a small dog , but I would limit it to one.

  16. Instead of trying to figure out what "breed"...Why not go down to the shelter and see what's there ?

Why do you have to have a purebred ?

I can gauruntee you that the right baby is there right now, just waiting for you to give him his "forever" home.. :-)

  17. Akita's are a ball of fun and funny

they love to run and will chase ya......and when they catch up to ya, you are dinner,, not just joking

they are a great big ball of fur, that will love you to death, and yes they love Frisbee, balls and just plain wrestling around...a boat load of fun.

and make great big ole soft pillows if you lay in the floor....

  18. I agree with 80% of your other answers.. golden retrievers are a good big dog as far as loving to humans and other animals, playful, and easy to train.

I also would recommend Alaskan Malamutes or Husky. I have owned a few of them.. and to watch them as little fluff balls chasing plastic bottles and toys.. sooo cute.

I also think that if you can put up with a little shedding and a little howling once in a while.. mine never howled.. but they do in general, then that is a good choice too.

God Bless you and your mom for adopting. There are a lot of dogs in those places that are being put to sleep cuz they dont have more people like you in their areas.

Good luck and hope you find the right adoptee,
