I want information about a corporate server . Does it maintain a log of visited websites

In my office if i visit certain sites say for example i watch streaming movies and i clear my Temporary Internet Files will my Administrator be able to see the URL's and the Content i have visited , what i mean to ask is will it be stored on the Server and how easy will it for him to access that information

  1. If your network administrator is routing your pc DNS through his webserver then there is a log of every website visited by username.

    If not, he can use Regedit to look at recent domains you visited by browser name.  I.E. IE7, Firefox, Safari, Opera.

    There are utilities that can search your harddrive for evidence of website visitation if he chooses to use them.


  2. It depends on the way they have the network setup and how much they care about employees wasting time on the net and the expense etc etc

    Basically if they have setup they network with logging software that is any good then YES they will be able to see exactly where you go, what percentage of whole time on the net you spend at particular site, what percentage of work hours you spend on the net all made up in a nice little report even a dumb **** manager can understand.

    If they haven't then just flush your temp and you will be fine.

  3. They might, a lot of companies monitor web activity.
