  1. It is very difficult and people work for low wages.  I interviewed dozens of people for a professional job as a secretary and sales admin in 2000 and 2001.  They were thrilled to get US$700-800 a month.  Today it is even a bit more difficult to get that.  We are hiring and accountant for $2,500 pesos a month, which is about US$833, I don;t know how they can live on that.

  2. Well the first thing is to determine if you qualify for Uruguayan citizenship. If so, you can acquire Uruguayan citizenship and a passport and have an easier time entering Argentina to live and work due to MERCUSUR. Next contact the Argentine embassy and see what requirements you'll need. You might have to pass a security check (no criminal record) and a physical (no diseases) before you are granted. It shouldn't be a problem getting a residency or work visa, however you will have to demonstrate that you already have a job sponsor lined up for you upon your arrival in Argentina or at least 6-9 months of savings that will help you live until you can find work.
