I want my belly buttton pierced!(how to convice my dad)

Question

i realllllllyyy want my belly button pierced.my mom says its fine but i have to ask my dad.and my dad has already said no to it countless times.i want to convince him to let me.he just thinks they are "Trashy" ughhh.please give some advice on how to convince my dad who is pretty strong willed

*please dont suggest things i could have came up with myself

Whatever you do, don't say that everyone is getting theirs done.  I've learned the hard way.  All you have to do is do some research.  Look up some belly button ring cleaners or something and then educate him on the ways that you can keep it from getting infected.  Also, try and make deals with him.  Say like, you will only wear it under your clothes.  Then as time passes you can "forget" to take it out when you are wearing a bathing suit or something.

You can just wait until you're legal.

It's hard to convince strong willed parents. If I were you I would do some research on the internet about safety and cleanliness. Also show him some pics of pierced navels. Ask him why he thinks they are trashy and try to understand his viewpoint. If all else fails, then just wait til you're 18. I know that's hard sometimes.
