  1. People get those pre-approved letters all the time. I get them and my credit is REALLY bad. Basically, if you have a SS# you're pre-approved. If you have anything less than good credit, you will not be approved. If you have too high of a balance or too many lines of open credit, you will not be approved. If you have any judgments or accounts in collections, you will not be approved. Based on what kind of card it is, if you have late payments on anything, you will not be approved.

If you don't have any of these things, then your card is probably on it's way. If you do, then I'd give up on it.

  2. Those "pre-approved" letters are sent out all the time.  They still process your credit application, pull your credit report, etc.  If this new card plus the available credit on the existing credit card(s) exceed their credit-to-income ratios, you will not get the new card.  Ditto if you have any bad credit.  They buy "headers" -- portions of credit reports, not the full report -- until they get an application with your signature on it.

  3. Actual card production can take 2 to 4 weeks. If you were approved, you should get your card soon.

  4. Just because the a card is pre-approved doesn't mean your are approved for the card. You still must qualify for the card which means your credit score must be good and also your debt to income ratio not to high. If you want to be able to get a credit card that is real than I found a site that has just that for you. Also you should bookmark this site cause it finds anything you are looking for just by typing in what you are looking for. Hope this information was helpful.
