Question:

I want my hair to be STRAIGHT at the tips?!?

I just got a haircut about 2 hours ago, and I guess I'm happy with it. The problem is that at the end of my hair, the tips start to curl outward. How do I prevent this? I tried using a straightening comb but it didn't work. I also tried to blowdry and use mousse but it just ends up "curling" again. I don't own a flat iron / straightener because my mom won't let me get one until I'm older because she think it might damage my hair. I'm 13 years old, btw. Any tips?! HELP. I need it to be straight!!

  1. Don't overdo your hair it will get dry and lose its shine. use shampoo

  2. um

  3. well, starightening combs dmage your hair more than flat irons. does your mom know that? it would be better for you to just get a flat iron. it would probably help you and it would cause less damage

  4. flat iron. that probably happened because they just blow dried it.

  5. your stylist probably razored the ends, causing the flip, or she might have given you layers, which would have a similar effect... so go back (if you go back the same day and express that you are unhappy with the cut, they usually will fix it for you for no additional cost)

and ask them to cut the ends of your hair straight across and bluntly -  without any layers or without the use of a razor - and that should do the trick!

if your mom won't let you or the salon you went to will not recut your hair, just remember that EVERY girl gets a bad haircut once and a while, and keep in mind the next time you go in for a haircut exactly what you want and bring pictures of celebrities' hair that you like

  6. get a CERAMIC flat iron , you can get one from walmart from conair (yellow and black) for about $14 plus ceramic straighteners protect your hair from damage while straightening them! and does your mom know that straightening combs actually damage your hair WAAAAYYYY more than regular straighteners? anyway you will actually start loosing hair early because you use a blowdryer onit i suggest letting your hair air dry and then straightening it with a CERAMIC hair straightener! trust me it doesnt hurt your hair ive been using it for about 3 years now and everytime i let my hair just do its thing without straightening it , it comes back to its natural shape (as in waves)

  7. my hair does the same thing when i first get it cut, the ends flip out.

I don't like using a hairstraightner either. It can split your ends, and dry them out. But, it's really no big deal, it doesnt ruin your hair. :]

wash your hair before you style it..use a straightening or smoothing shampoo. use conditioner, ecspecially at your ends. Then blow dry it and then brush your ends, curling them inward.

A round brush works best for this, but any brush will do.

When its completely dry, your ends should be straight.

Does your mom let you use a curling iron? if she does, you can easily use this as a straightner. Use the curler like a straightner [that means, don't actually curl your hair..just use the iron in a straightnening motion.]

    :]good luck!

  8. try putting some hair pomade/styling wax/ hair putty on your ends to keep them defined and stay-put. =)

  9. slowly use a straigtening brush they look like an iron but you use a blow dryer with them. many people use then so fast through their hair they do not see the results...make sure you use some hot iron spray for your hair so you dont burn it.

  10. I have curly hair as well. I brush it until I look like a poodle if you know what I mean. Then I blow dry it alot while i brush it. Then may i recommend gel. LA looks (the cheap stuff) works wonders! Good Luck
