I want my hamsters to love me, any tips

i recently bought two hamsters. i was wondering how can i get them to get use to me and so they will like me and not try to bite me. one is a peach color(and that one is more friendly than the blackish/brownish one) when they bite they didn't really hurt but i get scared though. any tips on how i can get my hammies to love me? thank you:]]

if they are syrian hamsters,

make sure you have them in separate cages.

if you don't, they will fight,

and possibly kill the other.

if they are dwarf hamsters,

then you're fine -

but make sure you have two separate food bowls.

let them get used to their environment first.

make sure the cage(s) are kept out of direct sunlight,

hamsters don't like bright lights.

keep the cage clean by replacing the bedding at least once a week.

make sure the food bowl is filled,

but if you've bought one of those hamster food mixes from the store,

make sure there aren't too many sunflower seeds in the bowl at a time.

hamsters love sunflower seeds, but too many won't be good for them.

give them a treat once a week, or every three-four days to keep them happy.

don't squeeze them, hamsters hate that.

and keep their water nice and fresh.

buy one of those hamster balls so they can roam around,

but keep an eye for them.

make sure you do research on what's safe to feed your hamsters.

they love fruits and veggies - but stay away from citrus fruits.

grapes, apples, strawberries, carrots, raw (sugar free) oatmeal, and (sugar free) cereal make great treats.

my first tip would be don't pick them as soon as they wake

animals bite when their scared

second, make sure their accustomed to your scent

wash your hands and rub them in sawdust before you handle them

and last just give them a lot of tlc

The best thing to do it play with them A LOT, then they will love u if u care for them kindly as long as they live. It is normal for hamsters to bite u when u first get them. Don't b scared they are more scared of u then u r of them!

Just feed them treats and dont try to pick em up.

They wont love you, but maybe they wont try to bite you.

Next time, get gerbils, they rarely bite.
