Question:

I want my house decorated yesterday.. Am I spoiled

We bought a new home 1 year ago and are not even close to having it decorated. We have only painted our bathrooms. We do not have a dining room table so one room is completely empty etc..

We have upgrated our kitchen, I decorated my room, bought some prints, cushions, visited family in France etc..

My husband says we have spent enough on our home this year. My thing is that we are not broke so I don't understand why we cannot continue decorating bit by bit. The paint thing is a priority for me.

Honestly, am I being spoiled?

  1. Spoiled? If you have the funds and have worked for it, then no. Your home is supposed to be your sanctuary. Work to make it one - comfortable. No need to travel to distant lands to find your pillows and paint. Try craigslist.org if your husband insists on being frugal.

  2. I don't think you're being spoiled!!

You want to make your new house a HOME!

Check out Ikea with your husband ... www.ikea.com has some great ideas if you find yourself stuck on a certain room!

  3. You're not spoiled~~~he's being a man.

My husband will use that line on me sometimes too even though our new house isn't ready to move into. We're not broke either and it really irks me that he continues to buy things non-house related and says he needs them, but I'm supposed to work within a budget?? I don't think so. I mean, yes there has to be limits, but not when hubby's spending cash too!

So no, I don't feel you're spoiled. There's nothing wrong with wanting to make your house feel like home. Why not just go get the paint and do it yourself? What's the worst that can happen?!

    Good luck!!
