theres a rule in our school that whoever starts the club, is the presadent.

what are some activities we could do, to publicly show that our school needs to be greener, and what are some things we could do to help the school?

  1. first buy 500 gallons of lime green paint then get 30 rollers and trays

  2. You'll need to find something that'll actually help and be cost effective enough to be affordable (given the lack of government funding for education it might be hard to convince the school to change anything that requires money be spent unless it will save money).

  3. recycle, change bulbs keep the curtains open and study by sunlight or even outside so you can turn lights off . Plant a student garden that all the students can use and maybe your lunch ladies can use for saving money on school food. Plant a few more trees on the grounds. Have a Green Society come in and teach what products are recyclable . Ask if you can put bricks in the backs of the toilets to conserve water (displacement, bricks can be found anywhere) Start a student green club, find ideas from others.

  4. Posters are great, but if you can use recycled paper or the other side of things. Try posting facts around about things about the environment that pertain to your area, like walking or taking a school bus versus parents driving their kids, if you have a cafeteria you could look at disposable cups and how they are affecting the planet, plastic water bottles, recycling in general, there's lots of things to look at. Good luck. (Also there is an artist who has made very dramatic pieces showing some of these things, pictures of them might be good to get attention). Try fundraising to buy a solar panel for the school, or recycling bins, or replacing some old technology, or properly disposing of things like old computers or batteries.

  5. Recycling! I did this at my school. Simply put posters over recycling bins on what you can and can't recycle. If you don't have bins, email a janitor so you can get them. It's really easy and makes a difference!

Also, just volunteer at your school. Pick up trash/recycling and make sure they go in the appropriate bins. If your school is cleaner, it'll still make a difference.

Also, green cleaning products! Again, talk to a janitor/cleaning service at your school and request that they use an organic/green cleaning product instead of the high chemical cleaners. This is also very good for your health. Good luck!

  6. the hanging poster is a gd idea but how is that being green when your wasting trees think about it...try doing little fund raisers or have big activities at school you could really turn this into something big at your school try having idk like a newsletter or oooooooh if you guys have the tv class like we did ask for your own like 10 mins on the morning news and let everybody know about the new club and things thy could do to help encourage kids to buy the school supplies that help out with the organization good luck and great idea

  7. USE RECYCLED PAPER, and make:

    Posters,

News letters every week, with interesting facts, and ways to help the enviornment.

Try to get a recycle program into your school, if not already one.

    Petetions.

    Just go for it.

    Fight for it.

    Get out the word!!!

And don't listen to that guy that said you can spell,

he's being rude.. :] Cyber bully..

    dont worry, you where rushing!

  8. If you want to think BIG and really make a difference, do this: get your school to buy buses that run on natural gas instead of diesel fuel. It is very clean for the environment AND cheaper to fill up! I have 2 cars that run on it and they're great. I'll list sources below so you can get an idea of what it's all about.
