  1. standard quality for printed pictures is 300dpi (dots per inch)

make sure that your picture is at least this whatever the dimensions of it. You can boost the dpi on something like photoshop but only up to about double the original size without affecting the quality

If you print it yourself, you can make adjustments in terms of contrast, tone etc to your taste - all this assumes that you have a photo manipulation programme of some sort and know how to operate it.

  2. The main thing is:-  Is the picture of sufficient quality to enlarge to the size that you eventually decide?

If it has been taken at low/medium resolution, there's no way it would enlarge.

If the picture is suitable why not print it yourself on a good quality printer, using good photo paper?

Dependent on the subject of the picture, A4 is probably suitable but for a larger picture (A3) you would have to get it printed commercially but the original will have to be fairly large.

  3. Walgreens!

  4. There are plenty of places that allow to send your photo on internet and print them for you (Target amongst others), for the list just follow this link:

But make sure you send a very big picture otherwise the quality of the print may be disappointing. For example you could use high quality image enlargement before sending them, check this website for that:
