  1. My suggestion would be Linkin Park or Hinder

  2. If you want catchy, not too heavy, try:

    (from the 60's)

    the beatles

    the kinks

    beach boys

    (from 70's)

    queen

    (from now)

    the killers

    klaxons

    the feeling

[^those 3 are British bands, if you haven't heard of them google it]

    plain white T's

    =]

  3. The classics, like 70s and 80s.  Try to learn about the history of Rock.  My personal favorite is Bon Jovi, i love them. listen to the genre from the beigining and stop in the 90s  the music after that changes a lot, and most people say that it turns into c**p, but i like it anyways.  Get use to the screaming little by little,  Don't close your mind to similar types of music,  we don't want the classic  Pink Floyd vs. Tokio hotel war, try to love as much as posible. Old Stuff, new stuff, everything is great.  Don't stop in the 90s, is you really like it just go on and educate yourself.

    Rock Rocks!!!!

Edit: sorry i forgot about the 60s, i'm not a big fan but classics are classics and you should never forget them.  Some songs and bands are part of the history of rock.

You say that you don't like anything too loud, you will start out that way, then you will move onto hard rock & metal.

Disturbed & Mudvayne is as hard as i'll go though.

    Try-

    Disturbed

    Linkin Park

    3 Days Grace

    Breaking Benjamin

    Papa Roach

    Theory of a Deadman

Here's one by 3 Days Grace-

  6. Start with Chuck Berry's Johnny B.Goode.  Then move on to the Beatles, then on to Led Zeppelin, then on to Pearl Jam, then Incubus, then Porcupine Tree.

    The rolling stones suck.

  7. Start with some 60's bands and their work from the 60s.

The Beatles- Their early rock songs are probably now considered almost pop/ rock. Their early songs are very simple and catchy and awesome.

The KInks- Very dominate guitar in they're early stuff (the music sort of revolves around the guitar) but also very catchy.

The Rolling Stones- They're probably a tad heavier than the beatles. They focus more on the music than the vocals, unlike the Beatles, but very good in their own sense

The Who-my personal favorite, very loud! lol, but not in a bad away at all, a lot of drums (well compared to the others), not realy heavy guitar, amazing bass, vocals were probably a little more than average (in their early stuff) Tommy the album is unbelievable but unique (in a good way)

The Spencer Davis Group- they're work with Steve Winwood was great, pop/rock too. Had a very pleasant sound

If u like thes just start moving down the line. Move on to the 70s, 80s, etc.

    Hope u like them

  8. The Killers, but promise to listen more than once.  A lot of their songs grow on you.
