I want some advice on how can I adapt easier when moving to a new country !?

Question

I'm 19, from Romania, and I'm moving to Geneva at the end of August. My mother's remarried there, and my dad's in Melbourne, so I chose Swiss because it's a lot closer. Still, I'm so worried and scared and I'm panicking at times. Dunno how will I adapt to the new culture and background, that's so different from where I was raised. I have to learn french, wich is really hard, because of the grammar, then I have to find some kind of job, then learn the city. I will get so bored without friends, and I have to leave my computer in Rom, it would be to complicated to bring it with me. What will I do with no internet, no music, no movies, I feel like killing myself. I tried looking on the internet for a website "All-about-Geneva" type, giving information about nightlife, events, history, restaurants, etc but not just tourist information kind, much more detailed ! If any of you live in Geneva, or know the city well, or if you can help me get rid of my anxieties, I would so much appreciate it !

I dont know anything about Geneva so this may not be very helpful but I spent some time in Europe and when I went over there i found one of the best ways to pick up on the new culture a little was just to sit in a coffee shop and sadwich bar for a while, I probably looked silly but I just kind of watched people, learned a little italian and it gave me something to do.

I can give you a little advice from what I have seen my brother do.  He is an American who moved to Croatia to teach.  He has been very happy there.  

Be open to new experiences.

Get out and meet people.

Breath!

It will not be easy at first, but the more you can get out there and the busier that you are the happier you will be.  Sorry I cannot give you much on life there, but no matter where you are if you are open to the experience you will be happier.
