  1. The Sony DCR-TRV265E is a Digital8 based camcorder.

    While you are at it, download the manual.

    But if you want to transfer video, it won't help you.

    To transfer video from the miniDV tape, you need to install a Firewire 400 port on your computer (unless it already has one. Once that Firewire (IEEE1394a, i.Link - all the same thing) is working, no device specific drivers are needed. Connect the camcorder's DV port (not USB) to the Firewire port on your computer and MovieMaker or WinDV will be able to capture or import that video.
