  1. the loan will not transfer itself you will have to pay it off with the money you get from selling you car. so make sure you sell it for more than $12,000. you can sell it in a number of ways. you can put ads in the newspaper, go to cars.com and set up a profile for your prius, or you could go trade it in to a dealer but if you decide to do this i suggest you go around to different dealers and see what they offer you. go to www.kbb.com and find out the trade in value of your car so you dont get ripped off.

  2. The loan gets paid in full.

Sell it, take the money from the buyer, pay the loan.  The bank will release the title, and you give the title to the buyer.

Prius's are gold - 6 month waiting list.  You should end up with loads of money left over after this deal.

  3. What Evan said- you'll have to pay off the loan with the proceeds of selling.

With gas at $4 a gallon and a six-month wait for new ones, used Priuses are gold; find out CURRENT selling prices in your area because "high book" is probably too low.

  4. Don't sell it to the dealer, they will rip you off.

Sell if off privately if you can . . . they are in hot demands right now and I know you will get a good price on it.  Go on Edmunds or kelly blue book to look up the private sale price.
