Ok, well the other day, we found a lost cat. I basically fell attached with the cat, but we needed to take her to the cat care center. Her owners are not in contact and live far away. Everyone in our family loves her but my father. What is a way to convince my father to let us have the cat?

P.S. He REALLY dislikes cats

  1. if he hates cats there is nothing you can do accept show that you are prepared to do everything for it and he wont have to get involved at all

  2. Well you can show him all the good answers to this question.

Cats are great! You don't have to walk them. You do have to buy cat food and litter, but thats it! In return, they are lovable creatures who show affection to their owners if treated properly.

Also, if this helps, I own 5 cats and enjoy every minute with each one of them.

  3. I grew up with dogs and NEVER liked cats.  Then one day I got stuck with one that my brother could not take with him when he moved. After a few days of just being around her and seeing how loving they can be I really started liking her then fell in love with her.  I was devastated when we had to put her asleep because of kidney failure.  Since then I have had 2 cats and always will have one as a pet.

Just ask your father to give it a chance at least a couple of weeks and hopefully he will warm up to it.

    Good Luck!

  4. It's very difficult to convince someone to change their mind over a short period of time. If you father really dislike cats, there really isn't much that you can do unfortunately. It's best not to bring the cat into your house against his wishes because after all, the cat should be a part of the family and loved by all. If you really wanted a cat in the family, this may not be the one cat. You need to sit down and talk to your father and explain your wishes. But after all, if you are still living under his roof, you need to respect him as well.
