  1. a vegetarian doesnt eat any meat from an animal, aka a cow, chicken, fish, you name it


  2. As a vegetarian, I just want to clear something up... Only eating chicken does NOT make you a vegetarian because you're still killing an animal for its meat. Eating fish does NOT make you a vegetarian because even though it isn't a land animal, you're still killing it to eat its flesh.

    Vegetarian - NO MEAT

    Vegan - NO DAIRY, NO EGGS, NO MEAT

    If you decide to become vegetarian or vegan, consult a nutritionist to make sure you're aware of new sources of food from which you can get all of the protein and iron you need to be healthy because your levels of these will drop as you will no longer be eating meat. You'll probably want to take vitamins or some kind of nutritional supplement to make sure you stay healthy.

    DO EAT:

    a VARIETY of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. There are MANY good websites out there with amazing recipes and ideas. www.goveg.com for one.

    DON'T EAT:

    anything with refined sugar... or fast food... or anything junky. Try to stay away from dairy products as well.

    Vegan = NO ANIMAL PRODUCTS, PERIOD.

    That being said, you should eat vegetables and fruit.  If you're just a vegetarian, then eat dairy, maybe eggs, fish.  And make sure you get your protein.  Peanuts are good...

    Just don't do it to quickly.  Two of my good friends were hospitalized because they stopped cold turkey (ba-dum-chhh) and weren't eating right

  7. you cant eat chicken if youre vegetarian.  you should become one but do your reseach first.  i find treehugger.com to always be helpful

    Chicken is a meat.

    However, there several different kinds of vegetarians. Some eat eggs, some don't. Some eat cheese and some don't.

    Make sure you do a lot of research though, because if you don't supplement your protein intake, you can get very sick. Our bodies need protein.

  10. That's great, good for you! Vegetarians don't eat any animal flesh. So fish, chickens, turkeys, etc. are not part of a vegetarian diet. You will want to stay away from chicken broth, for instance.

    Vegetarian diets include a variety of fruits, vegetables, beans, nuts, and grains. Fake meats (like veggie burgers and veggie chicken strips) are good and make the transition easier.

  12. I suggest not becoming a vegetarian but maybe cutting back on your meat intake.

    I would never consider myself a vegetarian, but I have meatless meals about 4-5 times a week.

    Chicken in my opinion is the worst to eat, but that's just me!
