Ok i'm 14 and I really want to play tennis on my high school team. But I have no experience playing tennis. I'm planning on running every day, practicing my strokes, hitting the ball correctly, aiming to have a good grip on the racket, and try to improve my agility. I'm just wondering if I practice this everyday will i have a chance to be on the tennis team? School starts in about 4 weeks and I really want to be able to at least know how to play

  1. i played tennis all four years in high school.  although i began playing when i was 5 you can make the team. confidence and determination will take you a long way.  you should also practice on footwork. that will help with your strokes a lot. instead of running try doing sprints. PACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE, repetition helped me a lot.

  2. FIRST, get some experience! I was like you a couple of months ago. Proudly, I can say I'm way way way better than that time and know much more than I thought I could handle. What I mean by get experience, is play matches with your friends or people out at the courts. I never played against anyone before this year, but I practiced my strokes and all but that didn't work out so well. Why? Well I'm not saying you'll fail miserably, but for me, I just couldn't put my game up together. I had the strokes and the serve, but I couldn't use them together in a game. But good luck and keep practicing!

and remember, some people play every single day. I know a few guys/girls that do.

  3. I played all 4 years in high school and I didn't start playing until the 8th grade and if you have the desire to play and are willing to work hard then you can definietly make it.

  4. study tennis by watching the us open and stuff like that. good luck.
