I want to a buy a new TV LCD flat screen. can someone help me to choose?

Question

What's the difference between 720p and 1080p? What about the pixels? I saw a TV for the same size, same brand, same design, but the prices were really different. Please explain.

A 1080P TV set will give you MORE DETAIL and higher resolution than the 720P will....That's why it costs more....

And most good TV stations are using 1080....

Now if you're an ESPN-aholic....get the 720 TV set....

If you don't see every pixel you should see, you're not viewing a true 1920 by 1080 progressive-scan picture. The name of the viewing mode differs from brand to brand, but it's commonly called Dot-by-Dot, Point-to-Point, Just, or simply Overscan Off. If you're shopping for a new HDTV, make sure that the set you want has the option to disable overscan mode; not all sets do.
