I want to about industrial automation. now i want to communicate a normal PC with PLC?

i m govind from sg. i want to know about a small industrial network. so i need a suggestion from expert.

  1. Most modern PLCs (those made in the past decade, or two) have some sort of communications port that allows connection directly to a PC.  If it is an older PLC, the port will probably be a serial Comm port.  If the PLC is a bit newer, then an ethernet LAN connection will be available.  Most companies that sell PLCs will also have the PC software available for connection, communication, PLC software development, or direct control from the PC to the PLC.

    Contact the manufacturer of your particular PLC for a catalog of available software products.
