I want to act. and?

I know, there are a lot of people on here saying the same thing.

But i don't want to act because i will get paid a lot, and i don't want to act because it will make me famous. I want to because i love acting with a passion. Do you know of any places i could get discovered? Places in Florida?

Well, I dont know about florida, but maybe you can go to an audition in Chicago. But girl, let me tell you now, you need to start raising your money! My friend and I are at a thousand dollars and still raising money! Think about the price of gas from here to there and you will need a hotel and food too. If I were you, I would start out as an extra. An extra is a person in a movie in a big crowd that doesnt have any lines, but still acts. Like at a graduation party or at the grocery store in a movie. You see the people, but they are just there to make the science look real and normal. I would check the web maybe google or something, but make sure you check with your parents before you sign up for anything because some sites could be a scam . . . but I went to this site - www.americaundiscovered.com.

now the auditions are July 10, so you should wait until maybe next year, or something...

BUT KEEP PRACTICING! Practice scenes from movies or books and have your parents watch you and criticize you. Constructive criticism is extremely helpful!

Particapate in school plays or any theatre you can get yourself into. And good luck. It's really great that your not in it for the money or the famous stuff. You sound like an awesome person that has a really good shot! Don't give up, because I know it will get pretty tough. But just believe in yourself and your all good!

ahh your a good lady then :] i love the fact that ur not acting just to become famous like the rest of these girls are..

but uhm orlando an tampa are the biggest places in florida that you get discovered at. atleast thats where they hold auditions an stuff. so just get invovled in local theatres an stuff an if ur in school of course take drama classes an be in plays an stuff. i also live in florida but in the panhandle so i would have to travel pretty far but yeah also try doin monologues those help alot to. so good luck to you hopefully ill see you on the big screen :] god bless.

Finally someone who actually wants to act for pasion they all say i want to be rich and famous and those kinda people will never make it

try searching florida auditions in ask.com i think they have better results

First off, you will need a resume. You also need head shots and body shots. Start off by taking acting classes or any other classes, just to get experience. Then go on google, and search Florida acting agencys. You can apply online and you might get an interview or you can look up agencys in the phone book, and just go there personally. [:
