I have a Yahoo merchant starter account and will import to SiteBuilder. It of course includes UPS, but some of my customers prefer shipment through the post office. Thanks a ton!!! :)

  1. You can absolutely add USPS, or any other shipping method you wish to a Yahoo! store. UPS methods and rates are integrated so registered UPS members can display and calculate rates in real-time. You can call your own server that you set up on the Web Hosting side of your account to provide real-time rates, but this is only available with the Standard or Professional packages.

What you can do though is set up USPS methods and then set up rates. USPS offers a Priority Mail rate table (http://www.usps.com/rates/priority-mail-... you can even get a custom zone chart based on your location (where you are shipping from). Then, you can set up rules to match the Priority Mail rate table (for example you could create a rate table  based on weight that charges $4 for the first pound and an extra $3 per additional pound).

Just be careful though. High shipping charges may scare away customers--your goal should be to break even or make a little to cover packaging costs (Tip: USPS offers some free standard size boxes you can use). Also, be sure to set your shipping settings to calculate in real-time and use the shipping and tax test to test your shipping charges for a few locations (and see if those match your actual costs and adjust if necessary).
