The only problem with this is that the beam that runs the wiring in the middle of the kitchen is about 2-3 in. in width!!! The fan could probable fall!!! Any suggestions out there?

  1. those 2-3in beams support your entire home.dont worry

  2. just put a smaller fan up there and you will be find. if you tank it wouldn,t hold then put braod beteewn 2 stud and then put the fan up it will hold then.

  3. you could make a base that wraps around the beam a couple of inches out of a metal outlet box by cutting off opposite

    sides

  4. as long as its connected to a 2 x 4 or any size wooden member its fine for a ceiling fan.
