I want to add some icons to my vista system, where should I put the new icons?

I am trying to add some icons from new applications. I can find the icons on the cd's but don't know where to save them in Vista so that they are available for desktop.

anywhere, if icons are not in .exe file you'll have to manually assign them to shortcuts.
