I want to add stone to my porch 4x4 posts (1/2 way up).?

Has anyone experienced doing it if so how?

Build a box around the 4x4 with 2x4's and 1/2 in. plywood then adhere "cultured stone" to the plywood.  That way you have a stone pier look.  

If you are only wanting the pier to go 1/2 way up the post, you can put a stone cap at the top where the stone stops.

the correct method... build a frame around the 4x4 posts to the size that you want; then cover the frame with 1/2 inch durarock; then install the finish product with multiflex thin set.
