  1. i am in foster care and all you have to do is call the police staion on go on the intre net and put in foster care aggences in what ever state you live in. call one of the things listed. they should be able to help

  2. As with everything there is a cost.  AT THE VERY LEAST you will have to pay for:  a Home study, post placement visits, and atty. for you and birthmom.  Then you also need to find a birthmom which includes advertising and/or Agency fees.  Since you have a specific request (ie.girl) it will take longer for you.  You may have hospital costs, dr. bills, living expenses, etc....

  3. There are a few ways to go.  You can go through a state agency and not only is it free, but some states will continue paying for state medical insurance and state college tuition is provided.

Also, there are grants available, there are also special no-interest loans that adoptive parents can get, then they pay it back and another couple can use the money.

You can look into religious organizations in your area that may be able to help you.

The reality is that adoption costs money.  If you birthed a baby there would be medical costs.  Whether we like it or not - there are legal fees, birth mother's living costs, medical fees not covered by insurance or medicaid, and if you go out of the country you have to pay their fees as well.

I have heard this sentiment from others - that want to adopt but don't want to pay or think they can't afford it.  I guess it bothers me when they say that and have nice cars and jewelry and go on vacations, but they don't want to pay to adopt a baby.

But with that said - do your research and come up with an adoption plan that works for you and your family.  1-800-adoptions is a great agency nationwide that can help you or call your state agency and get the info about that.

  4. You may have to pay medical bills/agency fees, but if what you mean is that you don't want to buy a child. Don't worry, that's not legal anyway. Start by researching agencies and their rules/requirements in your area.

  5. You have to think about if you were to have the child. All those expenses you would have to pay (from conception...doctor visists, medications, hospital stays...etc...) if you were carrying the child. So, for you to not want to pay to adopt doesn't make sense, because if you really wanted to adopt a child, you wouldn't care about it.

I read in the link below that you can give a cap as to how much you can afford to pay but not for every child.

It's cheaper...I would believe to adopt a child where you live. If you go International, there are travel expenses as well as other ones too.

  6. If you want to adopt with minimal costs, then your best bet is through the department of social services.  Become a licensed foster care home and let them know what your looking for for adoption, the wait may be longer than a private adoption agency, but you can help children who need a good home temporarily in the process of waiting, or adopt an older child who needs a family.

  7. Hi

Check with your local 'Family and Children's Services' agencies.  These are agencies that deal with foster care and adoption.  Each state has one, you will need to find the one in your city.  If you visit Bethany Christian Services, and click on domestic adoption you will find a link that says something to this effect, 'Adopting in your state.'    If you decide to go through foster care and/or adoption through your state, there is no cost to you.  If there is a cost, it will be reimbursed.  Good Luck

  8. you have to pay. sorry
