  1. cps they will help you

  2. Contact the Colombian Consulate first.

  3. The laws have changed.  Since you are adopting a family member you need to go down to Columbia and legally adopt the child through Columbia's legal system.

After the adoption you must live in Columbia, with the child in your home, for two years.  After that time you can apply for the child using an I-130 petition just like any other eligible alien family member.

If the child was an orphan, and you were using an accredited international adoption agency, you would be able to bring the child back immediately following the adoption.

  4. You need to seek advice from an adoption attorney, and the dying mother needs to let her wishes be known as well (by whatever means is required in Columbia).  It's wonderful that you want to do this...persue and get legal council

  5. IM COLOMBIAN MY GRANDMA FROM MY DADS SIDE, GOT CUSTODY OF ME BY GETTING MY MOM TO SIGN A WAIVER SAYING THAT SHE WOULD GIVE ME UP FOR ADOPTION, DUE TO ECONOMICAL REASONS AND SO FORTH. ONCE SHE HAD THAT PAPER IT WAS VERY EASY FOR MY GRANDMA WHO LIVED IN NEW YERSEY TO GET ME OUT OF THE COUNTRY GOOD LUCK I REALLY HOPE THIS WILL HELP!
