i want 2 adopt my 15 yrs. old best friend who lives in Indiana and i live in new york i just turned 17 on 04-30-2007

and we both need each other very much my acs worker would put me in a different home because my family members keep on abusing me my question is that is there is any place or websites were the say how to adopt another person?

Are  you in the foster care system?  Why not try to find a home that will adopt both of you?

Write a will put it in her dads top drawer that says you get her than kill her parents JK.

State laws vary, in my state you must be 19 to adopt, and some states require a certain number of years difference in age as well. You can do a Yahoo search for your state's statutes then find their adoption laws. I am happy to help with the search, what state?

You can adopt i think. I read somewhere that you'd have to emancipate yourself.

Why don't you both emancipate yourselves and then, you can get an apartment and become roomates?

Oh yeah, i ment that you'd have to sort of divorce your parents. Then, you can be freed from them as a teenager. Is your  friend being abused too?

I am sorry honey, but there is not only age limits for adopting, there are also income limits.  I do not think this is a real option for you.  

You can move out on your own and try to get your friend to move with you, but you will not be able to be her legal guardian.

you wont get approved! Your not old enough and i bet you don’t have the money!, plus her parents have to put her up for adoption. Why don’t you just have her apply for emancipation!

sorry hun but you'd have to be at least 18. The good news is that once you're 18 and have your own place your friend that should be 16, can get emancipated. That is just a petition to the courts saying they can take care of themself and have somewhere to go. I know it's gonna be a while but just keep in touch with your friend. Best wishes.
