Where do you plan to go and what are you studying.  The expenses are not too high if you know what you want.  There is a website for students hostels that are very nice in Ireland.   http://www.anoige.ie/  Also charleville castle sometimes has hosted students that are studying in ireland you volunteer to do some jobs around the castle while getting free room and board not sure but go to website talk to Terri Dale  http://www.charlevillecastle.com  Hope this gets you started.  Be aware that on a student visa in ireland you can only work 20 hour a week legally
