  1. You need what is called a Schengen visa which allows you to go to all 24 countries within the Schengen treaty. France and Spain are both signatories to this treaty.

You need to apply for the visa at the consulate of the first such country you will be entering. So if you are going to France and then to Spain apply at the French consulate.

It takes a minimum of 15 days for the visa to be approved for an Iranian citizen.

You will be asked to supply the following:

    1. Passport valid for at least three months beyond the applicant’s last day of stay in the Schengen states. Please make sure your passport has a blank page to affix the visa (plus one copy of the 5 first pages).

    2. A completed appplication in duplicate http://www.consulfrance-washington.org/I...

    3. 2 photographs . All photos must be recent, identical, passport size - 2" x 2" (4,5cm x 4,5cm) and showing face front the forehead hairline and ears on a white background.

    4. Reservation with detailed itinerary. The roundtrip airline tickets will be required only when the visa is issued (+ 1 copy).

    5.  A letter from your insurance company stating that you will be covered for your stay in Europe for any medical and repatriation expenses (+ 1 copy)

    6.  Proof of employment (for example, letter from the company stating continuing employment after the period of leave, and last payslip) (+ one copy).

    7. Hotel reservation, proof of registration with an organized tour, attestation of accommodation , etc.(+ 1 copy) for the duration of your stay within the Schengen space.

    8. Proof of sufficient funds to cover the cost of your stay
