  1. NO u don't have to but if you would like big tips or wana have more fun go for it and it depends where ure guna be work if ure in vegas you kinda need to have it but if your guna work at a not so fancy bar u don't need to have it

  2. No, of course not. But if you are able to do it, there is probably a better chance for you to get the job.

  3. It's called FLAIR and no it's not usually required.

  4. Haha I don't care about that...I just care if the bartender get's what I request right and quickly...or "quick enough" depending on the crowd.  I hate bartenders thaty stand there and yap and yap before they  make your drink!?!?!

  5. no but it is a plus

  6. Not required to know unless you're looking to be a "Flair Bartender" - which is mostly in the resort towns like Vegas. You might not get a job as a bartender right away - many start as barbacks (the guy who schelps kegs and cases and ice) first and work their way up.

  7. no it's not required in most bars, it is a cool skill but definately not required, unless you go to a bar that does require it and even then they would probably teach you.

  8. I've only seen them in Vegas at the Rio I believe.

  9. Whatever makes you desirable to your clientelle is required if you want to be successful.  If you are a female, make yourself up to be desirable to the males.  If you are a male, do your best to hide the fact you're a 30 year old virgin living in your mother's basement and exude all the charm you can muster. :)

Entertainment! That's what bottle juggling is about. You do not need to do this to be successful. I am quite the bargoer, and I often go to my favorite on wednessday mornings which is my equivalent friday night (i'm a night shift worker with wednessday and thursday nights off).  The girls there are not showgirls, but are neat and well dressed, and are quite chatty. That's why I go back.  They don't juggle bottles, they just turn on the charm and chat up the customers.

I'd say being a bartender, assuming you know your recipes, is 75% charm and 25% showmanship.  Of course if you can't make up a mohito, a passable margarita, or a tom collins, you should expect failure.

  10. You dont have to throw bottles, but it can help.  And you need to learn a wide range of drinks, fast.  Good memory is required.  You don't have to throw bottles but you must look confident when you pour otherwise people get scared.

  11. Only required if the owner likes broken bottles

  12. I've never been to a bottle-juggling bar. Therefore, my answer is no.
