Me and my Fiance wants a baby, but Don't want to unless we know we can afford it,

also if possible can you include how much it cost for you to give birth to the baby the doctors bills and that.

so how much do you spend every month on your baby

on my last one every stated a average of around $150 to $950 a month, depending on daycare or not

one woman even stated she spent around $5,500 a month, which almost everyone else stated she is probably buying the highest class most exspensive stuff you can buy, and I agree

  1. if you are ready for a baby then you are i am telling you i am 17 and have a baby girl and i will tell you what it is so hard tyo get her what she wants but it is not hard to give them what they NEED so having a baby is the loy of giving life not puting a price tag on it becuase if you do you will find out it is a lot easyer than you think.plus there are wic programs that help you with food and formula and dont be to propnd to get on it because it saves you over 200 a month so if you want one remember its the love mama

  2. well per month depending on the doctor you get it could cost about 300 a month for a doctor visit plus the extra cost of food you have to buy about double what your paying now. and also the final baby doctor bill. But if you have good insurence than that will cover all the bills for the doctor. so around (with out insurence) 500-600 dollars

  3. I don't know a cost to tell you but one thing is for sure... If you wait till you can afford it you wont ever have a baby!!!! Don't be selfish, life is full of give and take.  Give a little to that special gift from God!!!!!

  4. For a young baby, it costs virtually nothing.  You will need a carseat and some clothes and other basic supplies to start out with.  With careful shopping a couple of hundred dollars should do it.

Beyond that, breastmilk is free, and if you use cloth diapers, there is no cost beyond the initial investment and a little extra laundry. Clothes (once baby outgrows the intial supply) can be bought at garage sales and consignment shops.

Everything else depends on your particular situation.  What is your health insurance like?  How much will it go up if you have a baby?  Will you be working?  (Daycare costs for infants are VERY high).  And you do get a tax rebate and deduction for kids. (If you're low income, you are also eligible for some additional rebates.

It's when they get older and start eating 'real' food and having activities and more expensive clothing and needing their own room that it gets expensive...

  5. i suppose it depends on what country your in too. and what you are willing to sacrifice (like brand names)

i would say approx 200 a month (with formula not breast).

daycare depends on the number of days, and whether you are eligible for rebates and reductions.

i didn't pay anything to have my baby. australia is great.

but really, if you want a baby, just do it. everything works out in the end.

    good luck

  6. It cost me $1600 to give birth to my son in the hospital. My blue Cross insur covered the rest.

My son was in June so he basically wore onsies for the first few months which run $10 a pack of three.

Diapers cost me $17 a package of 180. You change them on average every 3-4 hours. $5 a pckg of wipies for the month. $4 pack of 3 bottles. How do you feel so far?

  7. Diapers  $68 a month ($17 a pack which lasts a week)

    Wipes $20 a month ($5 for a pack which lasts a week)

Diaper Rash cream  $20 ($5 a tub which last a week)

    Bath soap & lotion $10 a month

Baby food - $10 a week, but you can make your own, which is cheaper and easy, which includes "snacks" (4 months to1 year) = $40 a month

    Formula - $25 a week (birth to 1 year) Breastfeeding is free (I did both) = $100 a month

Clothing - I don't spend much on clothing, people tend of buy clothes as gifts but on average I would say $25 a month

Misc (toys, books, pacifiers, all the little things) $20 a month

On average I spend $315 a month, but you can buy things on sale and with coupons and at bulk stores and save a lot of money. That is what I do all the time.

Don't forget to add on car seat, stollers and all the infant/baby necessaries $500+ (but one time purchases).

That is just for the 1st year, after that it's completly different.

As for the doctor's bills, it depends on your insurance. My daughter's insurance has a $0 co-pay and prescriptions.

I don't put my daughter in daycare so I have no idea how much that would cost.

Every place is different so just price around near you. It's amazing of all the cut backs you can do if you need to cut your spending down - just do over all your bills and see what is not a necessary.
