  1. YOUR ABILITY TO GET IN A BROADWAY SHOW DEPENDS ON 3 THINGS - HOW WELL YOU SING, DANCE AND ACT. IT DOESN'T REALLY MATTER WHAT YOU MAJOR IN AS LONG AS YOU GET IN EVERY PLAY YOU CAN - COLLEGE LEVEL, COMMUNITY THEATER, DINNER THEATER, CITY PLAYHOUSES ETC...

TAKE VOICE AND DANCE CLASS AND ACTING CLASSES. IF YOU CAN MAJOR IN THEATER AND MINOR IN SOMETHING ELSE LIKE BUSINESS OR MARKETING THAT MAY BE A BTTER BET

( OR VICE VERSA MAJOR IN BIZ  -MINOR IN THEATER)

THEY DON'T CARE WHEN YOU AUDITION IF YOU HAVE A BA - THEY CARE ABOOUT YOUR TALENT - BUT IN THE MEANWHILE IT IS A GREAT IDEA TO GET AN EDUCATION IN SOMETHING THAT CAN HELP YOU IN ALL AREAS OF YOUR LIFE!

    GOOD LUCK!

  2. Study theatre...not all of Broadway is musicals. Learn as much as possible about the history and all aspects (directing, scenic design etc....), work internships and see as much theatre- both plays and musicals as possible.

  3. Then I would consider other colleges with a major in musical theatre. If you really don't want to do that then I would major in drama and either minor in music (specifically singing) or just take as many music courses as possible. Good luck, I hope to see you on Broadway someday!

  4. ya right dream on

  5. I heard from a person high up in the broadway industry that degrees and such in musical theater and etc get aren't necessary nor do they give you an advantage. Try majoring in something that will help you if you need another career to fall back on like, a PHD and minor in MT drama or singing or theater.
