but I didn't take any German language classes and I'm starting my senior year this year.

I've taken French in both 10th and 11th grade and now I realize that I don't like it that much. I prefer German.

so would I still be able to major in German language if I didn't take the course in high school?

I don't even think my high school offers German language

  1. Most people either like languages or they don't.  If you don't like French, I have to wonder if you will really like German.  Having said that, yes, you can major in German in college if you want to (and if you go to a college with a German major).  You would take two years of basic language classes before being able to move on to things like literature classes, but it can be done.

  2. Yes.

    Some resources to look at:

p.s.  its okay to change your mind a few times and study a variety of things while you're young (under 20 or so).  after that it helps to identify your strengths and pick one or two to major/minor in.  language learning is a great process and will help you move through life no matter what direction you ultimately go in.  good luck!
