  1. don't you want to be president of this country?

  2. this site should work

  3. They get 10% of the winnings in the race

  4. They don't make 10% of the winnings. They generally make 10% of the winnings of a winning mount. After that, it's normally flat rates for 2nd, 3rd and so on, and a nominal take for an also-ran.

Being a jockey looks great on TV, and while your at the races. The jocks you see on TV in the big races and at the track, have paid huge dues to get there. You have to at the track every single morning to hustle some trainer to even let you breeze a horse. It's a long tough road, don't let anyone kid ya.

I can't recall the exact numbers, but something like 10% of all the jocks make 80% of all the money. For every jock you seen in a big race on TV, there are hundreds that can't even pick up a single ride at bush tracks all across the country.

I don't mean to discourage you, I know this is a dream of yours, I'm just trying to be honest and straight with you.

  5. head for newmarket in sulfolk england my friend  where we have the jockey school if  you go their on an apprentice basis and if you make it  through the training you will probably get offered rides with trainers but before you go you need to check your weight  as too heavy and its a no go  you can find details on the web  under weatherbys  forget how much they earn most  of them work on the yards as stable hands and take any rides that they get the chance to if you got the talent it will be spotted then you can name your price
