I just dont know which would be a better choice for degree in Aviation, and I want to get a degree in Aviation...I live in OH.. so it would seem that OSU is the more favorable choice... but Purdue seems more like a univ that trains more commercial pilots in the Aviation industry with Aviation college degrees... please... any input would be greatly appreciated... thank u

  1. OSU is good.  Also check out OU in Athens.

  2. Both are very respectable schools with good aviation programs.  A degree from either of those schools will let future employers know that you received a fine education.  I'd go with whichever one makes more sense for your situation.  I'd imagine that the tuition would be more reasonable at OSU, so that may make more sense unless you can get scholarships to Purdue.

I'd visit both schools... then make a list of the positives and negatives of each.  I really don't think you can lose, so don't be afraid of going with your gut feeling if that's what it comes down to.

  3. gET A DEGREE IN SOMETHING OTHER THAN AVIATION, If you ever loose your FAA Medical you will be unemployed with a usesless aviation degree.  Get a business degree.  Or ge a Business Associates Degree, then a B.S. in Aviation

  4. check out Embry-Riddle, Daytona Beach (FL) or Pheonix (AZ) at http://www.erau.edu

  5. Go check out your local airport and community college. WAY cheaper. likely better flight instruction too.

  6. Before you make any decision, check out Southern Illinois University at Carbondale...  They have a really great aviation program and offer several aviation oriented degrees.

  7. Both are very good. Have you considered Western Michigan University? Their Aviation program is also top notch.
