Hi,

I have been looking at becoming a fighter pilot in the RAF and i know how hard it is to get in and everything but i was wondering whether flight simulator games can give me a headstart into learning the basics of flying.

Are there any good games which would help or are the games farrr to different to real world flying?

Thanks very much!

  1. Well simulator program really helps in preparing. They are just to check that you can handle multi task at a time, primary requirement for a pilot. Beside this you should be very calculative and tough at head, so you never loose your cool in adverse situation. Unlike civil pilots the RAF required difficult situation at most times.

    All the Best

  2. It certainly does help, but it is also quite different to real flying. There are not many combat flight simulators which are very realistic and non combat flight sims arent quite the same. Microsoft Flight Simulator X is a really good one (get the Deluxe Edition if youre to get it and there are lots of expansion packs which make it better). Anyway it is definitely a good idea to practise on flight simulators because it will help you get used to it.
